Managing Your Accounts
Organizing Your Accounts
Create one account per brokerage account, prop firm eval, or strategy you want to track separately. This keeps your performance data clean and lets you filter by account across the entire app.
Creating and Managing Accounts
Click Add Account on the Accounts page, give it a descriptive name, and optionally set up commission tracking so your P&L reflects what you actually keep after fees.
Your plan determines how many accounts you can have. The Accounts page shows your current usage at the top. If you hit your limit, archive an account you no longer trade, delete one, or upgrade your plan.
You can edit any account from its card to update the name, adjust commission settings, disconnect AutoSync, or delete the account.
Archiving Accounts
Archiving is for accounts you're finished with: a failed eval, a closed broker account, a retired strategy. It closes the chapter without throwing away the history. Archived accounts stop counting toward your plan's account limit, so the slot is immediately free for a new one.
What archiving does:
- Frees a slot. The account no longer counts against your plan's account limit.
- Keeps everything. Every trade, note, and stat stays exactly as it was.
- Stays viewable. Select it in the account selector any time to review its history, on its own or alongside active accounts.
- Leaves your totals. It drops out of "All Accounts", so your dashboard reflects only what you're actively trading.
- Stops receiving trades. The broker connection is closed, and no new trades come in by sync, CSV, or manual entry.
Archive from the box icon on the account card, or from Edit > Account Actions. Archived accounts collect in a collapsed Archived section at the bottom of the Accounts page and under an Archived divider in the account selector.
Filtering by Account
The account selector in the top bar is one of the most useful controls in Tanto. Set it to All Accounts for the big picture, or select a specific account to focus your entire view — dashboard stats, calendar, journal, and reports all filter instantly.
This is especially powerful if you trade multiple strategies or accounts. Want to know if your prop firm account is profitable independent of your personal account? One click and you have the answer.
