Claude & ChatGPT

Overview

Ask Claude or ChatGPT about your trading and the answer comes from your real journal: "what was my net PnL in October", "which setup makes me the most money", "am I improving", "read my notes from Friday". The numbers come from the same calculations as Reports and the Calendar, so a figure from Claude matches the figure in Tanto for the same filter.

It's read-only. Claude and ChatGPT can read your accounts, trades, stats, tags and journal. They can't change anything in Tanto or place trades.

Connecting Claude

Works on claude.ai and in the Claude desktop and mobile apps. Connect once and it follows your Claude account.

In Claude, open Settings > Connectors, click Add, then Add custom connector.
Name it Tanto, paste https://mcp.tradetanto.com/mcp, and click Continue.
Leave the defaults as they are and click Add.
Click Connect next to Tanto.
Sign in to Tanto if asked, then click Connect Claude. Claude opens again, connected.

On Tanto's page in Claude, set Read-only tools to Always allow so Claude doesn't ask before every question.

Connecting ChatGPT

Custom connectors need a paid ChatGPT plan.

In ChatGPT, open Plugins in the sidebar, click Add, then Add custom MCP server.
Name it Tanto, paste https://mcp.tradetanto.com/mcp as the Server URL, and set Authentication to OAuth.
Tick I understand and want to continue, then click Create as a plugin.
Sign in to Tanto and click Connect ChatGPT.

Pick Tanto as a source in Deep research and ChatGPT can turn your trades and notes into a full written report.

The connector URL and these steps are also in the app under Settings > Connect AI.

What to Ask

If you'd open a page in Tanto to answer it, you can ask it. Some starting points:

"What was my net PnL, trade count and win rate for October?"
"Which setup made me the most money this quarter, and which lost the most?"
"Compare October to September. Am I improving?"
"What's my win rate on days I marked Tilt versus Normal?"
"List my MNQ shorts from last week with their R."
"Pull up the trade I graded F on Tuesday, with its screenshot."
"Read my day journal for Friday. Did I follow my plan?"
"When did I last write about revenge trading?"

In Claude, four ready-made reviews are one click away. Click + in the chat box, then Connectors > Add from Tanto, and pick Weekly review, Grade my day, Find my edge or Pre-market.

What They Can See

Your accounts, trades and stats, the calendar, each trade's notes and screenshots, and your day journal. They can also search your own words across all your notes.

Hidden trades and archived accounts are left out unless you ask for them. Money is net of commissions unless you ask for gross.

Good to Know

Group trades by position applies here too, so trade counts match what you see in Tanto.
Ask about long periods by month or quarter. Stats work over any range, but the calendar covers about three months per question.
After a Tanto update, start a new chat to pick up new tools. If something still seems missing, disconnect and reconnect Tanto in that app.
"Tanto subscription inactive" means your plan has lapsed. Reactivate it from Settings > Plan and ask again.

Privacy and Disconnecting

Claude or ChatGPT only reads your data when you ask a question in a chat. Nothing is sent in the background. What you discuss in a chat is covered by that app's privacy policy, so keep that in mind if your journal holds sensitive notes.

To disconnect, go to Settings > Connect AI, which lists every connected app with its own Disconnect. Access ends within seconds. Resetting your Tanto password disconnects every app at once.
