Bulenox Rules: Qualification, Fast Track, Momentum & Funded

23 min read

Understanding Bulenox rules before you start trading can save you from blown evaluations and delayed payouts. Qualification, Fast Track and Momentum each take a different route to a payout, and this guide breaks down every rule across all three, from your first trade through to a funded account.

How Bulenox Accounts Work

Bulenox is a futures prop firm offering three account types, each available in four sizes: $25,000, $50,000, $100,000 and $150,000. Those account types run across three stages, with two drawdown options to choose from, and Bulenox names all of them differently than other prop firms do. The stages are worth knowing first, since that decides where you start:

Qualification Account: the evaluation. Hit the profit target to pass.

Master Account: a simulated funded account. You trade simulated capital and get paid real money.

Funded Account: real capital. After three successful payouts, Bulenox may move you here.

Which account type you buy decides where you join that ladder.

Qualification is the standard route. You buy a Qualification Account, pass the evaluation by hitting the profit target, and pay a one-time activation fee to open your Master Account.

Fast Track skips the evaluation. You pay once and start trading in a simulated funded environment on day one. There's no profit target and no activation fee.

Momentum keeps the evaluation but bundles the two stages into one payment. Hit the profit target and your Momentum Master is activated free.

Every Bulenox account runs either a real-time trailing drawdown or an end-of-day drawdown. Bulenox calls these Option 1 and Option 2, and you pick one at checkout.

Option 1: Trailing Drawdown. The drawdown moves in real time. There's no scaling, so you get the full contract limit for your account size from the start, and there's no daily loss limit.

Option 2: End-of-Day Drawdown. The drawdown only moves at the close, and there's a daily loss limit. On a Qualification Account, Option 2 also comes with a scaling plan that ties your contract limit to your profit. On Fast Track and Momentum, Option 2 has no scaling and runs a fixed, lower contract limit instead.

The choice is locked for the life of the account. You can't switch from a trailing drawdown to an end-of-day drawdown after you buy.

Bulenox runs entirely on Rithmic, so you can trade through NinjaTrader or any other Rithmic-compatible platform. Bulenox supports over 40 CME instruments, including ES, NQ, CL and GC, in both standard and micro contracts.

Bulenox Drawdown Rules: Option 1 and Option 2

Option 1: Trailing Drawdown

Option 1 gives you access to the full contract limit for your account size from the start. The tradeoff is a real-time trailing drawdown.

The trailing drawdown follows your account's highest balance in real time, including unrealized gains and commissions. If your account reaches a new high watermark at any point during the trading day, the drawdown floor moves up with it. If your balance drops, the floor stays where it is.

Here's an example on a $100K account with a $3,000 drawdown. Your starting floor is $97,000. Say you open a trade and your balance reaches $100,800. The floor moves up to $97,800. If the trade pulls back and you close at $100,500, the floor stays at $97,800. The floor will always trail $3,000 below your highest balance.

Because the drawdown is calculated in real time, it applies to open positions too. If a trade drags your account below the floor, that's a breach, even if the position would have recovered.

During an evaluation the drawdown trails the whole way. It only stops moving once you're on a Master, Fast Track or Momentum Master account, where it locks at the initial starting balance plus $100. So on a $100K account the floor locks at $100,100 and you're trading with a fixed drawdown from there.

Option 2: End-of-Day Drawdown

Option 2 calculates drawdown only at the end of the trading day and adds a daily loss limit. On a Qualification Account it also adds a dynamic scaling plan.

The EOD drawdown updates based on your account balance at market close, not in real time. It only moves when your end-of-day balance reaches a new high. If your balance drops, the floor stays where it is.

Here's an example on a $100K account with a $3,000 drawdown. Your starting floor is $97,000. If you close day one at $101,000, the floor moves up to $98,000. If you close day two at $100,500, there's no new high, so the floor stays at $98,000. If you close day three at $102,500, the floor moves up to $99,500.

As with the trailing drawdown, the EOD drawdown moves for the whole evaluation and only locks once you're on a Master, Fast Track or Momentum Master account, at the initial starting balance plus $100.

Daily loss limit

The daily loss limit is the maximum you can lose in a single trading day. This is tracked in real time (including unrealized P&L and commissions) from 5:00 PM to 4:00 PM CT. The amount depends on your account type and size.

If you hit the daily loss limit, trading is disabled for the rest of the trading day. This does not count as a rule violation. Trading resumes the next session.

On a Master Account, the daily loss limit is permanently removed once the drawdown locks at the starting balance plus $100. On a $100K account, that happens when your balance reaches $103,100. On Fast Track and Momentum, the daily loss limit stays for the life of the account.

Scaling plan

The scaling plan only applies to Qualification Accounts and the Master Accounts that follow them. Fast Track and Momentum Option 2 accounts have no scaling and trade a fixed contract limit instead.

Your contract limit is based on your profit above the starting balance, which Bulenox calls Cash on Hand. As your profit grows, you unlock more contracts. If your balance drops back, your contract limit drops with it.

Bulenox Qualification Account Rules

A Qualification Account is Bulenox's evaluation. You buy one, hit the profit target for your account size, and pass to a Master Account. It's a one-time payment rather than a monthly subscription, and access runs for 30 days from activation.

Both options use the same profit targets and the same drawdown amounts. What changes is how the drawdown is calculated, whether you get the full contract limit from day one, and whether a daily loss limit applies. On Option 2, your contract limit moves through the scaling tiers shown above as your profit grows.

How to Pass

Hit the profit target for your account size without violating the drawdown. There's no minimum or maximum number of trading days, and you don't have to trade every day, but you still have to hit the target inside your 30 days of access. Once you reach the target, your account is automatically sent for review.

What Breaches You

Falling below your drawdown threshold suspends the Qualification Account. From there you can reset it or buy a new one.

On Option 2, hitting the daily loss limit is not a breach. Trading is disabled for the rest of the day and resumes the next session.

Resets

You can reset your account for a fee. The reset returns your balance to its starting value so you can keep going on the same account. Your previous profits, losses and trading days are all cleared. It also does not extend your 30 day access period, so resetting late in the window leaves you very little time to pass.

Bulenox Master Account Rules

These are the rules for the Master Account you reach by passing a Qualification Account. Momentum has its own Master Account with its own rules, covered further down.

Your Master Account keeps the account size and the option you chose during Qualification, and the trading conditions carry over unchanged. What changes is the risk. The drawdown eventually stops moving and becomes a fixed floor, and on Option 2 the daily loss limit drops away at the same point.

What Happens After You Pass

Reaching the profit target does not open a Master Account on its own. Your Qualification Account is submitted for review automatically, and Bulenox verifies that you completed it within the rules.

After approval you get an email with your completion certificate, the Master Account Agreement and activation instructions. Once your Master Account is approved, the matching Qualification Account closes automatically.

Activation Fee

Each Master Account carries a one-time activation fee covering market data and account maintenance. There's no monthly fee, and the same amounts apply to Option 1 and Option 2.

Your activation link is valid for 7 days from the day it's issued. If you don't pay within that window, the Master Account is no longer available for activation. The clock only starts when the link goes out, not while the account sits in the activation queue.

When the Drawdown Locks

On both options, the drawdown climbs with your balance until it reaches your starting balance plus $100. At that point it locks and never moves again.

$4,500

$145,500

$150,100

$154,600

On Option 2, the daily loss limit is permanently removed at the same moment. So on a $100,000 Master Account, reaching $103,100 locks your floor at $100,100 and drops the daily loss limit for good.

The scaling plan from Option 2 carries over as well. Your contract limit is still tied to your profit above the starting balance, so it rises as you build and drops back if your balance falls. Unlike the drawdown and the daily loss limit, scaling never locks. It keeps moving in both directions for the life of the account.

What Breaches You

Falling below your drawdown threshold closes the Master Account. There's no self-serve reset the way there is on a Qualification Account, but Bulenox can arrange a Master Account Reset for an additional fee. You have to request it through support, and the fee is calculated individually for each account.

Hitting the daily loss limit is a different event. That disables trading for the rest of the session and does not close the account.

Master Account Payouts

Payouts are processed once a week, on Wednesdays. To make the following Wednesday's cycle, get your request in by 11:59 PM CT on Friday.

You need 10 individual trading days before you can request your first payout, and another 10 after each payout that follows. That next block of 10 doesn't start when you submit a request. It starts once the previous payout has been completed, and weekends, public holidays and the days between your request and the Wednesday processing date don't count toward it.

Every payout request is reviewed on its own and has to clear five things: 10 completed trading days, a request of at least $1,000, enough profit to cover the safety threshold reserve, a consistency percentage of 40% or less, and all payout and tax documents submitted.

Maximum payouts

A cap applies to your first three payouts only. After the third, there's no maximum.

Account Size

Maximum Payout (first 3)

$25,000

$1,000

$50,000

$1,500

$100,000

$1,750

$150,000

$2,000

Withdrawal safety threshold

The safety threshold reserve is the minimum that has to remain above your starting balance after a payout. It isn't your account balance, it's the profit you have to leave behind.

Account Size

Safety Threshold Reserve

$25,000

$1,600

$50,000

$2,600

$100,000

$3,100

$150,000

$4,600

Your account has to hold enough profit to cover both the reserve and the payout you're asking for. On a $50,000 Master Account, requesting the $1,000 minimum means your balance has to be at least $53,600, and at least $52,600 has to remain afterward.

Each reserve is exactly $100 more than your drawdown, which is the same profit you need to lock the drawdown in place. In practice that means you can never withdraw your account below its locked floor.

The 40% consistency rule

No single trading day can account for more than 40% of your total profit for the payout period. If your total profit is $20,000 and your best day was $9,000, that's 45%, so the withdrawal would be denied. You'd need to keep trading until your best day represents 40% or less of total profit.

The calculation never resets. Your best day stays on the books after a payout and only changes when you record a more profitable one. Total P&L is calculated across your whole time on the account rather than per payout, so a big early day follows you, and the only way to fix a failed consistency check is to keep adding profit until the percentage falls into line.

On your first withdrawal only, the safety threshold counts toward total P&L.

After three approved payouts, your Master Account can be reviewed for transition to a Funded Account.

Bulenox Fast Track Account Rules

Fast Track has no evaluation. You pay once, with no activation fee and no monthly fee, and start trading a simulated funded account on day one. There's no profit target either. Instead you trade toward a first payout goal, and once you clear it you can request a payout.

There's no scaling plan on Fast Track. Option 2 runs a fixed contract limit that doesn't move with your profit, and it's lower than the Option 1 limit at every size.

The drawdown behaves the same as it does on a Master Account. It climbs with your balance and locks for good at your starting balance plus $100. The daily loss limit is where Fast Track differs: it never lifts, and stays active for the life of the account, pausing your day whenever you hit it. The $25,000 Option 2 account is the exception, since it has no daily loss limit at all.

What Breaches You

Falling below your drawdown threshold suspends the account.

On Option 2, hitting the daily loss limit is not a breach. Trading is disabled for the rest of the day and resumes the next session.

Fast Track Payouts

There's no minimum number of trading days. To request your first payout you need to reach the first payout profit goal, satisfy the consistency rule, and stay above every risk threshold.

Account Size

$1,500

$50,000

$3,000

$100,000

$6,000

After that, payouts run in cycles. A new cycle starts with your first trade after an approved payout, and each cycle has its own goal counted in new profit from the balance you started that cycle with. Profit you kept from an earlier cycle stays in the account but doesn't count toward the next goal.

Account Size

Second and Subsequent Payout Goal

$25,000

$1,000 in new profit

$50,000

$2,000 in new profit

$100,000

$3,000 in new profit

$150,000

$4,500 in new profit

Here's how that plays out on a $50,000 account. You hit the $3,000 first payout goal at $53,000 and withdraw $1,000, leaving $52,000. Your next cycle needs $2,000 in new profit counted from $52,000, so you have to reach $54,000 before the second payout opens up.

Consistency rule

Your highest profitable day is divided by the net profit of that payout cycle. The maximum is 20% on your first payout, 25% on your second, and 30% from the third onward. Missing it isn't a breach, you just keep trading until the account comes into line.

Payout limits

The minimum request is $1,000. Unlike a Master Account, the caps never disappear, they just rise after your third payout.

Your balance after a payout has to stay above the drawdown threshold. Bulenox will refuse a request that would take you to it or below it, so you can't withdraw yourself into a breach.

Processing

Requests submitted before 12:01 pm CT Monday to Friday are ordinarily processed the same day. Weekends, banking holidays and compliance checks can push that out.

After three approved payouts, your Fast Track Account can be reviewed for transition to a Funded Account.

Bulenox Momentum Account Rules

Momentum bundles both stages into a single payment. You pass a qualification first, the same way you would on a Qualification Account, and then your Momentum Master activates free. There's no activation fee and no monthly fee.

Like Fast Track, Momentum has no scaling plan, and Option 2 runs a fixed contract limit.

Passing the Momentum Qualification

Hit the profit target for your account size without violating the drawdown. There's no minimum number of trading days, so you can pass in a single day, and there's no consistency requirement at this stage. Your qualification is valid for 30 calendar days from activation.

One thing to plan around: qualification profits don't carry over. Whatever you finish the qualification with, your Momentum Master starts at its stated balance.

What Breaches You

Falling below your drawdown threshold suspends the account.

On Option 2, hitting the daily loss limit is not a breach. Trading is disabled for the rest of the day and resumes the next session.

Momentum Master Payouts

Hitting the target sends your account for review. Once it's approved, your Momentum Master is activated free of charge. There's no activation fee and no monthly fee, and you keep the account size and the option you started with.

On the Momentum Master, the drawdown climbs with your balance and locks for good at your starting balance plus $100, so on a $25,000 account your floor locks at $25,100 once you reach $26,100. The daily loss limit doesn't lift with it. It stays active for the life of the account, where a Master Account drops it as soon as the drawdown locks.

Payouts run in cycles, with a new cycle starting after each approved payout. To request one you need five qualifying profitable days, a consistency percentage of 35% or less, the minimum balance for your account size, and compliance with your drawdown and trading rules.

Qualifying profitable days

A qualifying day is a completed trading day with net profit after commissions of at least:

The five days don't have to be consecutive. A smaller profitable day still adds to your profit, it just doesn't count toward the five.

Consistency rule

Your best trading day can't be more than 35% of the net profit for that payout cycle. Missing it isn't a breach, you just keep trading until the percentage comes into line.

Bulenox Payout Rules: Profit Split, Methods, and Consistency

A few payout rules are the same no matter which account type you're on.

Profit Split

The first $10,000 you're paid is 100% yours. After that the split is 90% to you and 10% to Bulenox, taken at the time of transfer.

The $10,000 is counted once per trader across all of your Master, Fast Track and Momentum Master accounts, not once per account. Opening another account doesn't give you a second run at it.

How the Consistency Rule Works

Every account type has one, and the calculation is the same everywhere: your best trading day divided by your net profit for the period, times 100. What changes is the percentage you have to stay under and what counts as the period.

Account Type

Maximum

Period

Master

40%

Your whole time on the account

Fast Track

20%, then 25%, then 30%

The current payout cycle

Momentum Master

35%

The current payout cycle

That period difference matters more than the percentage. On Fast Track and Momentum the calculation starts fresh after each approved payout, so a bad ratio only affects the cycle you're in. On a Master Account it never resets, so your best day follows you for the life of the account and the only fix is to keep growing total profit.

Missing the consistency rule is never a breach on any account type. Nothing closes, nothing is violated, and the payout simply can't be processed until the numbers line up.

Knowing where you stand means tracking your best day against a running total, per account, which is difficult to eyeball once you have more than one open. Tanto auto-syncs your fills from Rithmic and NinjaTrader, keeps separate history for each account, and shows every day's close on a P&L calendar, so you can see which day is your biggest and how far your total still has to grow before a payout clears.

Payout Methods

Payouts go out by ACH transfer, wire transfer or PayPal. Bulenox doesn't charge a transfer fee, though your receiving bank, an intermediary bank or PayPal may charge their own.

Make sure the beneficiary name, address and payment details match what you submitted on your forms. Anything inconsistent can hold up the transfer.

Documents You Need

All of your documents have to be in before you request your first payout. Everyone completes the Bulenox Withdrawal Information Form and includes a valid identification document.

After that it depends on your tax status. US persons submit a completed W-9, and non-US persons submit a W-8BEN. Both have to be signed by hand, since Bulenox doesn't accept electronic signatures.

Bulenox Funded Account Rules

The Funded Account is Bulenox's final stage, where you trade real capital instead of simulated funds. After three successful payouts, your Master-level accounts can be considered for transition, whether they're Master, Fast Track or Momentum Master.

Three payouts makes you eligible for review. It doesn't guarantee a Funded Account. The move happens at Bulenox's discretion and is never automatic.

Consenting to the Transition

You have to accept the Funded Account Agreement and complete the required documents before the transition goes through.

If you decline, the Master Account in question is closed and no further payout is issued from it. That's worth planning for before you reach your third payout, since any profit sitting in the account goes with it.

How Consolidation Works

Bulenox reviews the total balance of each account first. Only accounts with a positive balance are eligible to be included.

You can hold up to five Master-level accounts at once, in any combination of Master, Fast Track and Momentum Master, so up to five eligible accounts can merge into one Funded Account. Each one carries across a limited amount of profit.

Master Account Size

Profit Cap per Account

$25,000

$2,500

$50,000

$5,000

$100,000

$10,000

$150,000

$15,000

On top of the individual profit caps, the combined balance transferred from all your accounts is capped at $30,000. Anything above your individual profit cap, or above that $30,000 total, is excluded from the transition. It doesn't move to the Funded Account and it isn't eligible for withdrawal afterward.

Your individual profit caps can add up to more than $30,000 once you're merging several larger accounts. Anything over that total is forfeited, so the more you hold, the more profit you stand to lose at transition.

Accounts you haven't activated yet aren't included. They stay in pending status and don't contribute to your Funded Account balance.

Once the transition is approved, your Funded Account opens with the account size plus whatever profit survived the caps. Since the Funded Account is separate from your Master accounts, Bulenox issues new access for it, and trading only begins once they confirm the account is ready for live trading.

Funded Account Payouts

You need five trading days before you can request a payout, down from the 10 on a Master Account. A day only counts toward that five if you finished it with at least $150 in profit, at every account size.

After a withdrawal, the balance left in the account has to be at least equal to the amount you took out. So you can never take more than half of what's available.

Trading Hours, Instruments, and Other Bulenox Rules

Trading Hours

The Bulenox trading day runs from 5:00 PM to 4:00 PM CT the following day. All positions must be closed by 3:59 PM CT, and holding positions overnight is not permitted. Weekends and holidays do not count as trading days.

News Trading

News trading is allowed on every account type. There are no blackout windows, no forced position closing and no penalties, so you can trade straight through CPI, FOMC, NFP and everything else on the calendar.

Instruments

Bulenox supports over 40 CME futures contracts across four exchanges: CME, CBOT, NYMEX and COMEX. That covers equity indexes, currencies, energy, metals, agriculture and crypto, including popular contracts like ES, NQ, CL and GC as well as Micro Bitcoin and Micro Ether.

You can trade standard and micro contracts at the same time. One standard contract counts as ten micros against your contract limit.

Commissions

Commissions are charged per side, so you pay on entry and again on exit for each filled contract. Rates are all in, meaning exchange and clearing fees are already included.

They also count. Commissions are part of your P&L and pull against your drawdown and your daily loss limit, so a high-frequency approach eats into your risk budget as well as your profit.

Platform and Data Fees

Connecting to Rithmic through a third-party API or composite software costs an additional $100 per month.

Exchange data is billed separately. You declare professional or non-professional status on your Rithmic agreement, and professional status costs $116 per month. The classification is locked for the life of the account.

Algorithms and Trade Copiers

Bots, algorithms and trade copiers are allowed, with one condition: the tool has to be built by you and used only on your own accounts. Commercial, shared, rented and publicly distributed automation tools are not permitted.

Bulenox doesn't support third-party software and takes no responsibility for problems caused by it, so uptime and reliability are your problem.

Taxes

Bulenox treats funded traders as independent contractors, not employees. US traders receive a 1099-NEC and international traders complete a W-8BEN. If you want to understand how prop firm income is taxed before your first payout, our prop firm taxes guide breaks it down.

Multiple Accounts

There's no limit on how many Qualification Accounts you can own. Master-level accounts are capped at five active at once, in any combination of Master, Fast Track and Momentum Master.

Each Master-level account is separate while you're trading it. They only come together at the transition to a Funded Account, where the eligible ones are consolidated into a single account.

Every account runs under one Bulenox profile and one Rithmic User ID, which is created automatically when you buy your first account. Creating a second profile or using a second User ID is not permitted and can get your accounts suspended.

Bottom Line

Your account type decides how you get paid and your drawdown option decides what ends the account, and neither can be changed after you buy.

Qualification is the standard route and the only one with a scaling plan, but it's also the slowest to pay out, with 10 trading days and Wednesday processing before a payout clears. Fast Track drops the evaluation and pays the same day. Momentum keeps the evaluation but covers both stages with one payment and activates the Master free.

Option 1 rewards traders who can manage real-time risk, while Option 2 gives more room during the day at the cost of contract limits.

Consistency rules and payout caps are where most people get caught, and they work differently on all three account types. If you're heading for a Funded Account, check the transition caps before your third payout, because profit above them doesn't survive the move.

Rules can change, so always check the Bulenox Help Center for the most up to date rules.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Bulenox Option 1 and Option 2?
Option 1 uses a real-time trailing drawdown and gives you the full contract limit for your account size from day one, with no daily loss limit. Option 2 uses an end-of-day drawdown and adds a daily loss limit. On a Qualification Account, Option 2 also comes with a scaling plan that unlocks more contracts as your profit grows. On Fast Track and Momentum it runs a fixed, lower contract limit instead. Your choice is locked for the life of the account.
What is the difference between Qualification, Fast Track, and Momentum?
Qualification is the standard evaluation. Pass the profit target, pay a one-time activation fee, and trade a Master Account. Fast Track has no evaluation at all, so you start on a simulated funded account from day one and payouts process the same day. Momentum keeps the evaluation but covers both stages with one payment and activates your Momentum Master free. All three lead to a Funded Account after three successful payouts.
What is Bulenox's consistency rule?
Every account type has one, and the percentage depends on which you bought. A Master Account is capped at 40%, Momentum at 35%, and Fast Track starts at 20% before loosening to 25% on your second payout and 30% from the third onward. The calculation is your best trading day divided by your net profit for the period. Missing it never closes your account, the payout just can't be processed until the numbers line up.
What are Bulenox's payout rules?
It depends on the account type. On a Master Account you need 10 trading days before your first payout and another 10 after each one, and payouts are processed on Wednesdays. Fast Track and Momentum process the same day, with Fast Track requiring no minimum trading days and Momentum requiring five qualifying profitable days per cycle. The minimum request is $1,000 everywhere except the $25,000 Momentum account, where it's $500. All three cap your early payouts by account size.
How many Bulenox accounts can you have?
You can hold unlimited Qualification Accounts and up to five Master-level accounts at once, in any combination of Master, Fast Track and Momentum Master. All of them run under one Bulenox profile and one Rithmic User ID. Creating a second profile or using a second User ID can get your accounts suspended.
How much is the Bulenox activation fee?
Only the Qualification route has one. It's a one-time fee based on account size: $143 on the $25,000, $148 on the $50,000, $248 on the $100,000 and $498 on the $150,000. Fast Track and Momentum have no activation fee, and no account type carries a monthly fee.
Does Bulenox allow algorithms and trade copiers?
Yes, with one condition. The tool has to be built by you and used only on your own accounts, so commercial, shared, rented and publicly distributed automation tools are not allowed. Bulenox doesn't support third-party software or take responsibility for problems it causes. Connecting to Rithmic through a third-party API or composite software also costs an additional $100 per month.
